Joe Parrott- Director of Intake
Joe’s primary function at KLEAN is fielding calls day and night from potential new intakes and their families, often in crisis. His gentle, caring and compassionate approach is both welcoming and authentic as he listens carefully to determine the caller’s needs and assesses their situation. Joe makes an effort to help anyone calling asking for help with placement or direction to the appropriate treatment environment for themselves or their loved one.—
Often the first person they meet, new arrivals will spend their first few hours at KLEAN with Joe. He ensures that they are comfortable with their accommodations as he walks them through the intake process. Accessibility is key as Joe stays in constant contact with participants and their families during their stay making sure that their needs are being met; assuring them that he is their advocate and is never more than a phone call away.—
He has been active in 12-step recovery, since September 2004, coordinating sober retreats, creating and facilitating sober workshops and sponsoring men who are new to recovery. His most recent direction in his personal sobriety has brought him to the rooms and philosophies of Buddhist Recovery.— In addition to his recovery work, Joe has worked with HIV+ and AIDS infected homeless families to secure low cost, safe housing.—
As a former private fitness trainer, Joe believes strongly in the importance of good nutrition and daily exercise in treating addiction. His other career experiences include nightclub owner in Austin, TX, real estate agent, and property, production, and project management. He is originally from Long Island, NY.
